Projects and Activities

Over the course of two years, 2016 and 2017, and in cooperation with the World Youth Movement for Democracy, the Najah 21 Network organized the Dream Short Film Festival, which aims to highlight stories of success and community entrepreneurship in the Middle East and North Africa through the production of short films addressing multiple success stories that contributed to solving social problems or helping society and its individuals in their daily lives in a way that promotes a culture of success. The festival also seeks to uncover the creativity and talents of young people in the field of filmmaking, generating social and cultural impact for both the community and all participants in the competition.

The festival, in its first and second seasons, achieved these goals in a way that made it a focal point for many talented young people in the Middle East and North Africa. The network received nearly 100 films across both seasons, directed by talented filmmakers, 10 of whom were honored at two festivals held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. During both seasons, the network also ensured that participants were given the opportunity to showcase their talents and be connected with institutions concerned with the film industry and distinguished directors. In addition, the network provided the first-place winner of the first festival with the opportunity to attend an international film festival in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

The Najah 21 Network worked on planning and preparing a project aimed at assessing the needs of Najah Centers across various sectors, as well as the extent of the spread and effectiveness of these centers’ programs and activities. Based on the assessment findings, efforts were then made to address these needs and build the capacities of the centers in a scientific and systematic manner within a detailed plan implemented by the network and its executive team in cooperation with the centers and various partners.

The “Binaa” project aims to conduct a comprehensive survey of all information and data related to Najah Centers and their activities, including all their needs. These needs and information are analyzed and evaluated in preparation for designing a comprehensive plan to build the capacities of these centers, helping them develop and spread a culture of success and prosperity within their communities. The Binaa project consists of three stages: effective assessment of the current capacities of member organizations, formation and preparation of a central capacity-building team, and designing appropriate interventions to develop the capacities of member organizations in line with best practices in the field.

The Annual Meeting is an event organized by the Najah 21 Network in the Middle East and North Africa, bringing together 40 participants representing Najah Centers and Houses, including members of the General Assembly and members of the Network’s Board of Directors.

The meeting aims to strengthen cooperation among participating members and open the space for exchanging experiences. In addition, it helps members stay informed about the latest developments in the work of Najah Centers and Houses, as well as to engage in overall planning for the work of the coming year.

It is worth noting that the executive team of the Najah 21 Network carries out the organization of the meeting under the supervision of the Network’s Board of Directors and in cooperation with the members, as this meeting is considered one of the most important annual events organized by the network.

One of the core tasks of the network is to coordinate among member organizations and provide them with administrative and advisory support in all possible ways. To achieve this mission, the network planned and prepared a project aimed at assessing the needs of Najah Centers within the network across various sectors, as well as the extent of the reach and effectiveness of these centers’ programs and activities. Based on the assessment findings, efforts are then made to address these needs and build the capacities of the centers in a scientific and systematic manner within a detailed plan implemented by the network and its executive team in cooperation with the centers and various partners.
